It’s interesting to dig into the ranks of the stars and find new or at least semi-new stars that have been around for a while and yet haven’t done much yet with their careers. One has to wonder just what’s holding them back, if anything is. Some folks don’t want to be widely known and are happy to just be in the business, while others are trying as hard as they can and still can’t seem to break through for whatever reason. Dylan Gelula has been around for over a decade and she’s managed to find work on a fairly regular basis but at the same time her name isn’t one that a lot of people know for various reasons. The realization that she is a star isn’t hard to accept at all, instead it’s harder to think on why she hasn’t become more prominent as the years have continued on. Of course, seeing as how many of those who got their start after the turn of the century are now starting to take over it’s easy to assume that she might be finding her stride very soon.
Here are a few things you might not have known about her.
10. She’s 24 years old.
She’s got a lot of time left to establish her career, which is already on the way but could use a boost if it’s going to be anything big. Right now she’s in the perfect spot it would seem to really be a breakout star if she finds the right role and the right film or show to showcase her talent.
9. She was in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has a rather dark opening since she and another couple of women are abducted and held for 15 years during which they’re told that they are the only ones left in the world. When they get free they discover the lie and come to find that a lot of has changes in a decade and a half and that they have to adjust quickly.
8. Her career started in 2004.
She’s one of the many that started after the turn of the century and it seems fair to say that they should be the ones that will help to revolutionize the acting industry as they help it to move on and continue to entertain audiences in new and exciting ways.
7. She was in Chasing Life.
This show is about what it means to follow what you’re passionate about while you have the time since there’s no telling what might happen in life, at least that seems to be the gist of it since the main character find out she has cancer when her life is going better than she would have hoped.
6. She’s been an extra in a few productions.
Dylan has shown up in a few films and shows where she’s been a prominent character for a few seconds to a few moments and has managed to get her face on screen. In a couple of shows and Indie movies she’s been featured even more.
5. She hasn’t yet done a lot in terms of movies or TV shows.
This isn’t to say that she hasn’t been busy, but so far her resume is still moderate to thin since it would seem that she’s either waiting on specific roles or just isn’t taking absolutely everything that she wants or thinks she can do. This is a smart move in some regards since doing what you love and being good at it is usually better than being mediocre and burning out quickly.
4. She dropped out of high school.
Dylan never had the greatest attendance record it seems so there was a good chance that she wasn’t going to graduate, meaning that dropping out was the only real way to insure that she might be able to do what she wanted. So she dropped out of school and made her way into acting.
3. She has a small following on social media.
So far she only as a little over 19 thousand followers on social media which is bare bones when compared to a lot of others that have in the hundreds of thousands if not millions when it comes to their followers.
2. She was 10 when she was selected for her first role as an extra.
She was selected as an extra for the film Lady In the Water, in which she plays a girl in the pool and is only there for a moment or two before she’s gone. She’s played a few roles like this in her career so far but they’re all another bit of exposure no matter how short.
1. She’s acted on stage before.
Initially she didn’t think that she would enjoy the experience but she felt drawn to it all the same and eventually found out that she liked it. It pays to try something new a lot of times.
It’s easy to see that she might eventually be a breakout star.
