Days of Our Lives fans are big on couples, but we know that many things fail to work out with some. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to go through the comments, the complaints, the overall feelings that come from fans this year because 2018 has been a year filled with ups and downs in Salem, and there is nothing we dislike more in real life but love more on our favorite soap. This has been a year of dramatic turns and twists and things that don’t work for anyone, but we also know that sometimes you just don’t want to see someone together. Maybe it worked out at some point, but we are breaking down the couples that Days fans really disliked the most this year. Do you agree or disagree?
Paul and Will
While we do like both as a whole, we don’t like them together. They already went there, did that, and all that fun stuff. They did not work the first time they were together, and we didn’t think that they would work this time around. For one, we kind of enjoyed seeing them get together when they were in the middle of losing out in other areas. Here’s what we mean; Sonny left Paul standing right at the alter on their wedding day when he heard there was a chance his husband — with whom he was no longer with at the time of his alleged death — might be alive. Paul was crushed, broken, and in pieces. Seeing him end up with Will was vaguely satisfying at first, but then it got old. They weren’t good together. Paul seemed unhappy, Will was clearly all about Sonny again, and things didn’t work. They were our least favorite couple of the year.
Eric and Jennifer
We did mention recently in another article we did that we like them so much as friends. They have the overall makings of a great set of best friends for life, but they do not have what it takes to be together in a couple-like situation. Sure, they have some feelings for one another and they were kind of sweet together, but can we just point out that they never had what it took? They are too sad for one another. They need someone who will bring them out of their sadness rather than adding to it by joining them. She already had the love of her life die and she cannot replace him. And he has always been crazy in love with Nicole, and we all know that. So, when they got together — again — we knew that it would never last. Not for one moment, not for a second, and not for our own sanity. They’re great apart, but they are all things not so great when they are left to their own devices as a couple. Too depressing, not enough chemistry, and they are clearly just not right for one another.
Stefan and Gabby
Okay, okay, we know. Do they even count as a couple? For one, Gabby was not a real person. She was a disgusting mixture of Abigail and Gabi together when Abby’s alter egos began to form and take over her body. She was a person who wasn’t really a person, shoving an otherwise sweet girl into the abyss without a second thought. But what bothered us most about this couple is the fact that Stefan knew this was not a real person. He was well aware of the fact that Abigail was suffering from some sort of personality issue that left her without her own wits, unable to make her own decisions, and he decided not to care about that.
We feel that it would have been one thing if Gabby seduced someone who didn’t know she was suffering from multiple personality disorder. A stranger who would have been shocked to find out he slept with someone who wasn’t who he thought, perhaps. But Stefan knew, and it was nothing short of completely gross in our opinion. He knew he was taking a woman to bed who had no control of her own body which, to us, feels like taking a drunk person to bed and deciding for them. Gross.
