The mere fact that this dad and his daughter came up with this video is hilarious but it’s also cute and uplifting all at the same time. How many dads would do this with their daughters and be able to keep a straight face through the entire video? There’s no doubt that a lot of dads would do this and there’s less doubt that this took some practice but it’s all worth it since it made for a very touching and hopefully successful cookie selling experience. This is what is needed right now in our society and is so much fun to see, dads taking a vested interest in the interests of their kids, and in this case their daughters.
The Girl Scouts have been selling cookies for a little over a century now since the practice started back in 1917 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Since then it’s been changing every year considering that for a while the Girl Scout leaders had to bake them and possibly get help from those involved to get them made and sold in great enough quantities that the proceeds could be useful to the organization. The Girl Scouts have been an American institution since 1912 and are a great organization for young girls to learn confidence, important skills that have to do with real world experience and some that have to do with just having fun in a social environment that allows them to grow and develop with their peers in a safe and nurturing manner. Since the organization was founded the Girl Scouts of America has been something that many people have found incredibly useful and very uplifting for their daughters.
Male participation in helping to push the cookie sales isn’t something you hear about a lot when talking about the Girl Scouts but there are signs that it should be if it isn’t that much of a priority. This dad has the right idea of supporting his daughter and helping her to find a way to reach a wider audience by going online and promoting the cookies in a manner that’s both pleasing and entertaining. It would pay to know however if this was sanctioned by the Girl Scouts beforehand since promoting anything that’s not owned by the individual and is therefore the property of an organization should be handled with care. Considering that this video hasn’t been taken down though it can be assumed that they either got permission or it’s allowable under the rules of the Girl Scouts. Apart from doing such a thing without permission it doesn’t seem like the organization would have anything negative to say about such an innovative way to increase cookie sales, if it works.
Plus it just seems like a great way for this dad to really get into what his daughter’s doing and spend some quality time with her as well. This is what is needed after all, parents taking an active interest in what their kids want to do. If more parents managed to do this then there’s a good chance that more kids would end up well-adjusted and capable of becoming productive members of society.
