If you’re 12-years-old and someone says to you, “you can be famous for the rest of your life and we’re going to give you success very similar to what all the Harry Potter kids experienced” what would you say? Exactly. Consider Dafne Keen to be one of the luckiest child actors on earth because if this thing is played correctly she’s going to have a long and fruitful movie career ahead of her. If the studio makes the call, its young actress is already on board to make an X-23 sequel. You know who else is in? James Mangold. I wouldn’t be surprised if something was already in the works. I can tell you right now that from the response to Logan, an X-23 sequel is something that fans more than likely wanted yesterday. According to Comicbook
The common conclusion is that there is more story to be told for the big screen newcomer Laura Kinney, better known as X-23. With X-23’s story left completely open ended and a time traveler about to bust onto the scene in Deadpool 2, it’s entirely possible, if not probable, that 20th Century Fox has plans to bring Dafne Keen’s character back to the big screen.
Probable? I’d say this is 100% and not even a debate. While there’s zero way to predict if this has “Harry Potter” potential, if Keen proves to be a solid actress working through her teens this series could produce a double digit number of movies.
