A Conan The Barbarian TV Show is Not That Bad an Idea

A Conan The Barbarian TV Show is Not That Bad an Idea

There have been talks of a Conan The Barbarian sequel and even the name Arnold Schwarzenegger has been attached but it’s seemingly unlikelier by the minute that we’re going to see a feature film any time soon.  However, a television series may very well happen.  Despite recent reports of the big screen Legend of Conan reboot being cancelled, a TV series could still materialize in the very near future. President & CEO of Cabinet Entertainment Fredrik Malmberg explained:

Ultimately, the studio let the rights expire. The positive news is that Conan Properties now controls everything again, and are currently producing both TV and Film with a lot more control than we had previously. Everybody wants The Legend of Conan to happen and it will.

Malmberg also opened up to the kind of network the show would potentially be on:

A premium cable show for mature audiences.

Bingo.  That’s exactly what we want to hear.  The logical choice would be an HBO and the logical star would be Dwayne Johnson.  However, if you really want to test the acting chops of a John Cena, perhaps this is where Cena can move from doing movies “for fun” to being a big time Hollywood super star.   As far as other actors to play the role of Conan, I have no idea.  I just felt those two would be the logical choices.

I’ll keep you posted on any new developments.
