To be honest, I’m not 100% on board with Valentine’s Day. Frankly I never have been. It’s a holiday that puts considerable pressure on couples to show their love for one another. Pressure that is so great that even if effort is put in to make Valentine’s Day special it can still be ruined because someone got something “wrong.” The reality is that love should be shown each day of the year and we don’t need a day like Valentine’s Day to make restaurants more expensive and our loved ones to get angry if we didn’t express ourselves the right way. Plus it makes people who aren’t in a relationship feel like there’s something wrong with them, which clearly there isn’t.
However, I will say this. If we could all just relax, make some fun out of the holiday, and let it be comical, I could get behind it more. Here’s one way to do it. Artist PJ McQuade has been releasing some fantastic Valentine’s day cards for the past few years, and once again, he has outdone himself this year/ Be sure to check out his latest cards, which all feature quirky characters from film and television/ If your significant other is a geek, these cards might be just the perfect thing.
