The Exorcist is a TV show that serves as a sequel to the movie of the same name. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that it is a supernatural horror centered around characters in the titular occupation. So far, The Exorcist has managed to secure respectable ratings from the critics as well as the viewers, though there are those who argue that it has not managed to match its predecessor. Regardless, the TV show was more than successful enough to secure a second season that is supposed to start broadcasting on September 29 of 2017, which puts it at an excellent time seeing as how Halloween is no more than a month from that point on.

Since Season 2 of The Exorcist is set to start broadcasting in the not so distant future, it should come as no surprise to learn that promotional material is being pushed out, with an excellent example being the latest trailer. Suffice to say that it provides sufficient information to tantalize but not so much so that it would ruin the surprise for the viewers, thus striking a neat balance between those two important considerations.
For the most part, the information is not particularly unusual considering what was already known about Season 2 of The Exorcist. For example, we already knew that Season 2 of the TV show would be featuring a combination of both old and new characters, which is why the trailer spent some of its time showing who would be returning as well as who would be making a new appearance. Theoretically, the old characters will be serving to keep the seasons of The Exorcist feeling like a single TV show as opposed to separate TV shows situated over separate seasons, while the new characters are there as part of the new case for the new season. The trailer does not go into too much detail about what is happening as well as what interested individuals can expect, but suffice to say that a widowed child psychologist named Andrew Kim will be needing the help of the titular characters when something supernatural happens to one of the foster children in his care.
What Can We Expect from Season 2 of The Exorcist?
As stated, Season 2 of The Exorcist will be featuring a combination of both old and new characters. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, and Kurt Egyiawan will be making a return as Father Tomas Ortega, Father Marcus Keane, and Father Bennett. Meanwhile, the character Andrew Kim will be played by John Cho, who might be familiar to people from Harold and Kumar as well as Star Trek. Other characters from Season 1 of The Exorcist such as Henry and Angela Rance won’t be regular characters in Season 2, though that does not necessarily mean that they won’t be showing up as recurring characters. Regardless, it remains to be seen whether Season 2 will live up to Season 1 or not, but should it manage to do so, interested individuals can expect something new and exciting once the TV show starts broadcasting again.
