Bold and the Beautiful Characters We Never Really Loved

The Bold and the Beautiful is not like all the other soaps in so many ways. For one, it’s one of the youngest soaps out there right now. While other shows have 50 or more years on the air, this is one that really only has a few more than 30 years on television. The other thing that makes this show a little different is the lack of ‘extra’ characters introduced. They don’t kill off people as often. They don’t bring people back from the dead as often, and they rarely deviate from the main characters. They spend their time as a very tight-knit group, and that means they don’t have nearly as many random characters — and when they do, they might actually be pretty good. However, this show does have a few mishaps with characters along the way. We don’t love them all, but we also don’t dislike the ones we don’t love.

Quinn

Here’s the thing about Quinn. She’s a new girl in the terms that can best describe that around here. She’s been around for a while, but she’s always causing problems for everyone. She’s a mess, and she’s also someone who cannot get away without her way. She’s been a devious person since she arrived, and we don’t always like her. In fact, sometimes we are downright annoyed with her in every manner possible. She makes poor choices, she does bad thing, and she’s not very nice. And yet, we still like her sometimes. She’s got a way about her that makes her one of our least favorite characters of all time, and then we are all on her side when things go down. It’s really kind of magical.

Thomas

We liked him. We didn’t like him. We liked him, we weren’t sure about him. He’s not someone we know if we like or not. We don’t love the frequent recasts, and it’s hard to find anything to love about him after he believed all that Caroline had to say and then took off to be with her in New York. He’s not someone we can really get on board with, though we did like him a little when he was around. Overall, we weren’t sure about him, but he’s someone we might grow to enjoy.

Liam

We have such a love/hate relationship with him, and we have since he arrived. He’s so wishy-washy in so many ways. The young man cannot make a decision, he cannot not be married, and he can’t decide how he wants to live his life. He always asks for respect from those around him, but he rarely provides his in return, and he never focuses well when people don’t like him. He needs constant attention, he needs to have friends everywhere, and he needs to have his life in order in his own mind all the time. But he can’t make decisions, he’s always back and forth between Hope and Steffy, and he’s always making his own life as complicated as possible. He never seems to care, and we still can’t figure out why he must always be engaged to someone rather than just dating them. He couldn’t be with Steffy after their daughter was born if she wasn’t his fiancé. He left his wife for Hope, but immediately proposed to her first. It’s weird.

Brooke

Love her or hate her, she’s amazing. She’s also on our list of favorite characters, but we also dislike her a lot sometimes. She’s able to get away with anything she sees fit, and she is never held accountable for her actions. She is yet another character who cannot be alone, and she must ben engaged to be married at all times. She’s unable to be single, and she goes from one husband to the next like it’s her job. She always has another husband lined up and waiting on her, and it makes her appear weak. She also has no problem with always managing to make whatever she and her daughter do seem like the right thing even when it is clearly anything but. She’s interesting, and we love to hate her and love her all at the same time. If that’s not a mark of greatness, we don’t know what is.
