Young and the Restless fans aren’t very happy right now, and so much of why we are all confused and upset has to do with the fact that Billy is just a raging mess. The man knows better, yet he is still finding himself in situations in which he is alone with Summer. Rather than just being upfront and honest with Phyllis and keeping her away from him, he’s in the same situation over and over, and he’s allowing this temptation to get to him. He’s a mess, and he cannot make wise decisions about anything in his life. He’s a disaster, and we all know it. He cannot help himself. But that’s not what has us all in tears. We know that Devon cannot forgive his sister, but opening up and saying that he realizes Hilary would not be happy for him to keep his sister’s children from growing up without a mother was a terrible thing. He asked the judge to be lenient, and he gave his sister a year.
She’s in prison now, and things are ugly for all of them. He is not going to visit her or probably ever forgive her, but he will at least know that his Hilary would be happy knowing that he didn’t break up a family so that he could get revenge on his own family. His friends and his family have told him repeatedly that he did the right thing — and he knows it. But that does not mean he can forgive his sister for running that light and killing his wife and their unborn child. He’s in mourning, and he just isn’t there yet to forgive her or spend time with her in this capacity. We get that, and we are just glad he did the right thing to help his sister and his nieces and nephew.

Okay, so, um, no. Why would we want to find someone like this? Sure, he might look at her all loving and stuff, but he recently did sleep with his ex and then hide it from her. So, there’s that. But that’s cool. The way he looks at her is obviously all that matters. We’ll stick to asking women to find men who look at them and treat them well rather than simply give them all the looking feels. Just a thought…even though we do think they are darling together. Aside from the Phyllis stuff, of course.

The world is just sad for Lily. She’s spending a year in jail. She’s missing her family. She’s upset and unhappy and she’s taking what she can in terms of comfort. Cane is doing his very best to offer her what she needs at this point in her life, but what he can offer her is nothing more than the fact that they love her and they want her to be okay while she’s locked up. For one year, she will be away from her family, her friends, her kids. She will thinking nonstop about what she did and the fact that her own brother will never forgive her for it. He might have decided not to ask for the max punishment for her, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgiven her — or that he ever will.
And then there is the fact that Billy is making a bigger mess of his life than ever before. He cannot stop, and he continues to make poor decision after poor decision. We are just over here wondering if he will ever get it together, but we’ve decided that this is not happening and things are not going to work for him at all. This is not what she might want in terms of her plan, but we suspect Summer is all right with what is happening and what is going on. We know that this is not good news for anyone, but we also know that there’s a lot happening we didn’t see coming. It’s not good news at all.
