Baby Daddy: Ben finds a mystery note, Riley makes up with Danny.

If You’ve Got Mail was re-imagined and is one hour, it would be this week’s episode of Baby Daddy. Ben finds an old chair outside, and it stayed outside because he couldn’t bring it into his apartment. One day, he sees a note left on it by a mystery girl. He first thought Sam left the note, after seeing Julia at the bar, he assumed that she’s Note Girl.

Misconceptions then ensued when Danny thought the note from Note Girl was from Riley and wrote a missive himself. I was half-hoping that Riley would figure out that the “toilet paper” in her hand was Danny’s note. Alas, she crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it away.

I was raising an eyebrow in confusion when Danny found the note written by Ben to Note Girl and thought that it was from Riley. Those two are brothers, can’t they read each other’s handwriting? Though I guess Danny was desperate to get back together with Riley, he didn’t realize that Ben wrote the note.

This episode also touched on a subject that I have written about before, pageants for children. The fact that these mothers would stop at nothing to live out their dreams through their kids just sickens me. I completely agreed with Riley when she said that these pageants aren’t even for the kids, it’s for the mothers who are trying to make up for the lack of fulfillment in their lives. It baffles me why these mothers couldn’t let their children live normal lives.

Bringing things back to Note Girl, it turned out that Sam was the one who left the note for Ben. Moments after Ben left the bar with Julia, Sam came into the bar and asked the maitre’d if she had seen Ben. If Ben had not left with Julia, he would’ve met up with Sam and then reveal her identity as Note Girl. At least the two got together in the end after Ben sent Sam a cheerleading telegram (do those exist?). He also donned a cheerleader outfit himself as part of the routine, which made me a little uncomfortable. I’m also glad to see Danny get back together with Riley after the latter apologized for what happened between them. Happy endings all around!
