Avengers: Infinity War Set To Get MCU’s Biggest Promotional Campaign

It’s not too surprising that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be getting the biggest promotional campaign that’s been seen in the MCU as of yet. It’s one of the biggest movies to ever be made by the MCU, perhaps THE biggest movie yet, and so it’s attempt to sink $150 million into the campaign doesn’t seem like it’s being squandered. There are a great many companies that will be taking on a role with the movie as far as marketing and promotion goes within their ads, with Coca-Cola being one of the biggest. At this time the ads are set to start running soon and will do so well after the movie is released later on this month.

This is a movie ten years in the making since the MCU has been building to this point with each and every passing movie. There’s a reason why the post-credit trailers became a very real part of the movies and why so many hidden Easter eggs were laid into the scenes of each film. The MCU was building with each movie in an attempt to finally reach one of the biggest, nastiest bad guys that the Marvel Universe has ever known. In the comics Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet series became one of the most iconic moments throughout the entire Marvel Universe. He was the one guy that could snap his fingers and eliminate half of the galaxy in less than a second. He could take on cosmic beings like Galactus, Eternity, and even Death and come out triumphant. His power was absolute since he held the gauntlet and the Infinity Stones, the very embodiment of all reality that gave him absolute power over everything. In fact only the need for the universe to keep going was what prompted the writers and their bosses to keep him from logically destroying everything that had ever been within Marvel. It could have been the Thanos Universe had he wanted it according to the power of the gauntlet, but that’s just not the way things played out.

The one fear about this huge campaign is that it might be too much hype for the movie. In the past some movies have received a tremendous amount of hype and have suffered for it when they failed to produce the numbers that were expected in their opening weekend. Even during subsequent weeks they would suffer because the expectations and the hype had gotten so high that there was no way that they could exceed or even meet them. That seems to be the inherent danger here, as even though the movie looks awesome and worth going to see, it’s always a possibility that overplaying their hand could lead to the MCU dropping the ball in such a way that they might never fully recover. Even if they were to bring out another dozen movies this one failure would always stain the brand, reminding people of the time they reached a little too far.

Hopefully that’s not the case, as the movie looks absolutely amazing and should be able to live up to its rising reputation.
