At the start of last week’s episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, we saw the gang plead their case at what appeared to be the gates of heaven. Now, in tonight’s second segment of the two part finale, we’ll get to see how exactly the gang ends up there. By the end of the first part, they had all managed to find themselves in the ship’s jail with unsteady waters ahead of them. With the ship facing some major obstacles and the gang locked in ship jail, they’re going to have to face some serious realities about themselves and each other as they face this near death experience. Be prepared for a lot of yelling, fighting, and quite possibly mental breakdowns.
The true question is, how exactly will this episode end? With the knowledge that the gang eventually finds themselves at heaven’s door, it’s not crazy to speculate that it could end with all of them dying. After all, if any show were to kill off every single one of its main characters at once, it would be It’s Always Sunny. And the episode literally is named “The Gang Goes to Hell” (assuming their attempt to talk their way into heaven goes poorly, which it probably would). All of this would certainly lead to an…interesting next season. Or perhaps what we saw at the beginning of the first episode was merely a hallucination (something we’ve seen from Dennis already this season when faced with insanity). Either way, they’re going to need a lot of amazing grace along with her sweet sauce to make it out of this episode alive…if they even do.
Take a look at the preview clip below and be sure to tune into the season finale of It’s Always Sunny tonight at 10:00pm/9:00pm central to see how it all goes down.
