“Smallville” may have ended a decade ago but two people will continue to be part of its story through reprising their roles in “Arrowverse.” Erica Durance and Tom Welling will return as Lois Lane and Clark Kent respectively in the crossover. Now that Erica is back on the Superman mythology, fans are getting curious. She did many interviews years ago and here are a few facts to let you in on everything about her.
1. She learns from the characters she plays
Everything we do is a learning opportunity, and Erica being an actress, learns from the roles she plays. She told ACED Magazine that Lois Lane’s character is an all-rounded person who can be both aggressive and vulnerable, which makes her complicated. Erica has learned that it is okay to be human and even when she falls, she can get back up again. She, therefore, wishes to be more like Lois.
2. She has made it to the world’s sexiest women list
There is no denying that Erica has the looks that most women would kill for and most men go seeking in a partner. She, therefore, was featured in FHM magazine among the world’s 100 sexiest women in 2006 through 2009. It is no mean feat especially since she also appeared once on the magazine’s cover. Her sexiness has also been recognized by BuddyTV for two consecutive years while in 2012, Hello! Magazine recognized her as among the 50 most beautiful woman in Canada.
3. She believes in having a reliable support system in a partner
There is a reason why marriages are more than unions; some describe them as companionships or partnerships. As with any partner, even in business, you expect the other person to help out to guarantee success. Erica is one lucky woman who found a supportive husband in David Palffy. Maybe the fact that he is in the entertainment industry facilitates him to be an understanding partner as well. Erica believes that every woman, especially one who is planning on motherhood or is already a mother, should have a robust support system in their partners. As Erica sees it, every child a couple gets help them to evolve as parents and individuals.
4. She wears many hats
You may know Erica from her acting career, but she does more than appear on the screen. Erica admits to wearing many hats, and she even began directing in 2016. Moreover, she has a creative talent since not only does she write, but she also lends a hand to the film producers by giving valuable input. Erica is so busy that while some believe in the 9-5 routine, she spends at least 12 hours on the job.
5. What she does to maintain her composure
Once you are a mother and a career woman, you may have little time for yourself as you try to balance both worlds. It gets even more challenging when you have two small children like Erica’s sons, who are currently aged three and four. Erica tries to spend most of her free time with her children. She knows without taking care of herself too, she will fall apart soon and take it out on her sons. Erica, therefore, runs on the treadmill or goes for a walk. It enables her to become a more patient and happier mother, according to Parents Canada.
6. Her family background
Erica has two siblings, but their names are a closely guarded secret since they keep their lives away from the public eye. All we know is that the two, a brother and sister are older than her. Her father, Joel Durance, was a truck driver whom Erica credits for teaching her the importance of hard work. He also instilled in her the values of integrity and honor which Erica lives by to this day. Erica’s mother, Gail, was a librarian and little is known of her since she is not on any social media platforms.

The main cast of “Smallville” has done well for themselves and all of them are millionaires according to Fame10. Erica’s net worth has been reported as $2.5 million. Since it is this series that made her a famous actress, another Superman mythology show will increase the actress’s worth considerably.
8. She does not like to watch her Superman shows
You would think that for someone who enjoys playing Lois Lane in “Smallville” and is reprising her character in “Arrowverse,” Erica loves watching the Superman myth shows. Unfortunately, that is not the case, and she does not enjoy watching how she is on television because she gets nervous. That does not mean that Erica does not appreciate her fellow actors because her favorites in “Smallville” were Clark and Lionel Luthor. Besides, maybe if she admitted to loving watching herself, we would think of her as being a vain woman.
9. She can be aggressive in the bedroom
They say having the same meal every day is tiring, and you will have to spice it up to enjoy it. Similarly, boredom in the bedroom has been the root of many troubled marriages, but that is one area that Erica and her husband have covered. Depending on what they agree on, Erica can go from being aggressive to being passive. Since Lois Lane was also bold, as Erica practiced her exotic dance routine, she kept the stilettos hoping that her husband would find them sexy and he did. Besides her aggression, Erica also loves role-playing and gets characters mostly from the farm. She can be the milkmaid while David gets to be a ranch boy or farmer.
10. She was once a janitor
It is hard to believe that a beautiful woman like Erica had to clean pee for a living, but she did. Besides growing up in a turkey farm where she had to shovel the manure, her entire family worked as janitors. Therefore while the rest of her family cleaned three buildings in the city, Erica cleaned the bathrooms. As she told Kiste TV, Erica was shocked that grown men could not use the toilets properly. There was urine everywhere, and the janitorial experience became both unforgettable and humbling.
