It’s interesting as Jude Dry from IndieWire has found out that Bill Gates’ worst fear is losing his mind, since this is a common fear that a lot of us have, but probably not for the same reason. I’ve got to admit I never gave much thought to Bill Gates other than to think that he had more money than just about anyone and had earned it in ways that a lot of us simply don’t understand. But thanks to Netflix we get a chance to at least see what might actually be going on in his mind, from a very peripheral standpoint of course, and in some ways some people might feel more of a kinship with this man than ever before, especially if your mind tends to work in the same way as his. You might wonder why you’re not as rich as Bill Gates if that’s the case but if you’re not as motivated and don’t know what to do with that kind of knowledge then it might go a long way towards explaining why he’s in his position and you’re in yours. This three-part documentary could go a long way towards explaining why Bill Gates is who he is and how he managed to get there no matter if it’s seen as positive or negative in various ways. It’s the result that tends to matter, not so much the manner of getting there, at least some of the time.
Julia Alexander of The Verge reminds us that the documentary will go into more than just how Bill got to where he is now, but will also explore his likes, what he tends to think of during his average day, and so on and so forth. Honestly it will show him as a human being that wants to help others and wants to find new ways in which to help humanity since being a philanthropist seems to come naturally but it also seems like another outlet for this man that has thoughts caroming throughout his head on a rather constant basis no matter how much he might want to rest at times. It’s hard to explain this to anyone who doesn’t experience it now and again since having one thought ping off the walls of your mind multiple times is one thing, but having multiple thoughts bouncing around inside your head and feeling the need to express them is something else that keeps a person so occupied that it might seem as though they never rest. In Bill Gates’ case this seems pretty accurate since he’s been going so hard for so long that one might think he’s more machine than man considering that his brain continues to work whenever he’s at rest and won’t stop delivering or working on ideas that are bound to be beneficial or at the very least insightful and possibly groundbreaking by nature.
Just how this documentary will go about detailing the life of Mr. Gate seems pretty self-explanatory but it also seems to indicate that it will seek to explain the why and how of the daily workings of his brain and possibly the why. It seems a little presumptuous to think that anyone can really understand what it’s like since without having experienced this kind of thought process that sends multiple signals screaming through the grey matter between your ears it’s kind of hard to really capture any great and in-depth explanation that people will be fully able to grasp. Katherine Schaffstall of The Hollywood Reporter explains that the documentary will go into the good and the bad of Gates’ life and how people have painted him in one way or another throughout the years, but again it’s kind of difficult to look at his motivations and say for certain just what’s going on in his head and why it might be deemed as something that people can quantify. In truth the average individual couldn’t possibly fathom how many connections are being made in a mind like this thought it’s easy to think that we could guess and be amazed.
The documentary should be interesting to say the least since Bill Gates has had a long and insightful life from his beginnings to his current state. He hasn’t been the perfect human being, that much is for certain and can be discovered just by reading about him, but he’s still been phenomenal in a lot of ways since he’s done what he can for humanity and he’s done a great deal of work when it comes to making a career that was something to talk about and then something that was seen as inspirational for a lot of people. Finding out what’s going on inside his head would be like unlocking a mystery you’d seen in action but could never figure out.
