10 Things You Didn’t Know about Lacey Evans

The world of the WWE has been shaken up in recent years as the women’s, no longer called the Divas, division has been bolstered time and again, leading to an increase of female talent that’s been seen to more than just managers or just another pretty face. It’s been going this way for a while and it’s benefited those such as Lacey Evans that have come in to show just what they can do and dazzle the WWE universe with their athleticism and their impressive in-ring skills. As it’s been shown some performers take a while when it comes to really catching on with the fans, but Evans has been given kind of an easy in, or at least it seems that way, since she’s been seen to feud with one of the current champions, Becky Lynch. While this feud hasn’t really gone her way the entire time it’s been something that has been keeping the fans happy.

Here are a few things about Lacey you might not have known.

10. She is a former US Marine.

This has been mentioned a few times on air but it’s likely that a lot of people don’t pay attention to it since her in-ring persona doesn’t seem to be much more than a toughened version of a lady-like individual that knows how to dish out some pain. But she did serve her country for a time.

9. Her staff sergeant introduced her to wrestling.

It’s uncertain just what she might have done had she not been introduced to professional wrestling, though maybe she would have made her way to the ring eventually. That being said though she was turned on to the idea by someone else that thought she had some potential, which is just one way it can be done.

8. She made her debut in 2015 for an independent organization.

Like a lot of other wrestlers Lacey had to prove that she had what it took before she could really claim the mantle of a wrestler, but thankfully since she had the conditioning and the athletic ability it didn’t seem to take that long to really get into the swing of things.

7. In 2016 she signed with the WWE.

It’s likely that a lot of people, unless they watch NXT religiously, noticed that she had made her way to the big-time, or at least as close to it as she could get without being on the main roster. Eventually she did manage to impress a few people and was finally called up to the main roster in 2018.

6. It sounds like Alundra Blayze blasted her on social media.

It’s hard to know how real some of the ‘feuds’ on the WWE are but it does seem as though Lacey might have said something that, real or not, kind of insulted the WWE legends that helped make this show what it is today and they took umbrage with it.

5. Her social media presence has exploded over the last couple of years.

She does have hundreds of thousands of followers on her Instagram alone so it’s kind of obvious that people like her. She does present herself as a great heel since she’s become one of the characters that a lot of fans want to see get beaten in the ring.

4. The feud between her and Becky Lynch has been pretty entertaining.

Becky Lynch has been a truly entertaining individual throughout the course of her career so far, even when she went heel for a bit, but the feud between her and Lacey has so far managed to become something that has heated up quite a bit and involved more than just the two of them as Lacey does what she can to gain an advantage, as per the script obviously.

3. She started her own construction business while in the Marines.

Whether she still has this business or not is an interesting question but it would seem at least that she has something else to depend on if things ever don’t work out in the WWE. At the very least it shows that she knows how to go out and get what she wants.

2. Her net worth is around $500,000.

You might want to argue that there’s a severe pay gap in the WWE and you’d be right, but only insofar as to who’s paid more because of the time they’ve put in and how popular they are with the fans. In other words it does equate to the level of commitment that one gives to the industry, though there are other factors that could explain this as well.

1. She’s still in her 20s.

How long she lasts in the WWE is going to be up to how long her character is popular and what kind of story arcs can be created for her in the months and hopefully years to come. The only time a wrestler is truly in trouble when it comes to their career is when the writers simply can’t put any kind of popular spin on their character.

Hopefully she’ll be sticking around for a while.
