Let’s Talk about Spider-Man’s New Stealth Suit

Stealth Suit

Throughout the years Spider-Man has been kind of rough on his suits and he’s had a few that were less than adequate to begin with, but all in all he’s almost always had the same kind of blue and red motif with a few different designs thrown in to make them unique. Apart from becoming the black-suited Spidey he’s never really changed his colors so drastically that he can’t be recognized. But give props to the people of the MCU for this new stealth suit that has been developed for him since it almost gives the wallcrawler the same look he had when joining with the symbiote, but obviously without the negative side effects. Kevin Burwick of MovieWeb and others have gone on to reiterate that Spidey’s new stealth suit is even more complicated than the Bat suit, which as you can imagine is a very audacious claim, but is also kind of accurate since one of the people that worked on it was present to work on the Bat suit for a while as well. So yeah, he might be able to tell us with some accuracy what’s what.

Eric Joseph of We’ve Got This Covered has gone on to state that the stealth suit is impressive, but it’s also going to open up new possibilities within the MCU it would seem, or at least be one of the catalysts since along with the suit is the idea that the characters in the MCU are now living in world without Tony Stark. As you can imagine that’s going to be something quite different since throughout the last decade we’ve seen nothing but Stark every which way we look. On top of that, the stealth suit is not one of Stark’s designs apparently, though it does serve up a lot of great visuals it sounds like that will keep the audience on their toes. Added to that is the getup that Mysterio is going to be wearing, a costume that is more practical than the CGI effects that people might expect to be heavily used. From reading various articles it sounds as though the working parts on each suit are more mechanical in nature than CGI-based and have given the actors no end of trouble on certain takes. But as you can imagine those problems have been hashed out and fixed to the point that the movie is going to be something absolutely great.

As  far as what it does Matt Goldberg from Collider has said that it allows him to blend into the shadows better, which is kind of pointless really since Spider-Man is usually front and center when the action is going down. Being stealthy is great and all but it still doesn’t make a lot of sense. Thanks to the comparison with the Bat suit however and the claim that it’s more complicated there are no doubt hidden surprises on the suit that we’ll get to see the moment it’s unveiled on the big screen. This is going to be the last movie in the current phase it sounds like before the MCU moves on, and you can imagine that everyone is holding their breath to see how the transition goes. Spider-Man: Far From Home is said to be bringing an explanation of sorts as to what’s going to happen next, and thanks to the fact that Mysterio seems to come from a parallel dimension it sounds like they might be gearing up to go into the multiverse. This would make sense considering that they’ve already done this with Spider-Man, and the fact that they seem to be bringing the Eternals into it only continues to fuel the rumor that the MCU is continuously expanding and looking for ways to add in more characters as time goes on. What will happen to those that are still around after Endgame is going to be interesting to see, but so long as Tom Holland is wearing one suit or another you can bet that he’ll be one of the most faithful representations of the wallcrawler that we’ve seen yet. Even those still pining for Tobey Maguire might finally come around and admit as much.

The choice of villain for this next movie is kind of odd though since Spider-Man has so many villains to his name that it’s kind of hard to think about just who they would get to face off against him next. Mysterio is kind of a strange choice since unlike Spidey’s other villainous enemies he really doesn’t have any superpowers of his own and is based all around illusion and deception. In the movie thus far it seems as though he’s going to possess power on a scale that is well beyond the comics version, but again, his whole character is based around deception, so it could be we’re not seeing the whole picture just yet.
