10 Things You Didn’t Know about Carly Shroeder

It’s not often these days that you hear about a celebrity giving up the glitz and glam to join a cause that isn’t about glory or awards but is instead something that makes you wake up insanely early and go through the kind of hell that is typically reserved for those that want to serve their country. It’s inspiring and it’s truly impressive since honestly you really don’t hear about this all that often any more, but there are still those that are going to criticize Carly Schroeder for this and possibly say that it’s a chance to get a few impressive photos here and there and push an agenda of some sort. If you’re thinking that it’s a shame that there are such views then you’d be right, especially given that her father and brother are part of the armed services, or have been in her father’s case, and she’s simply trying to do her part.

Here are a few things you might not have known about Carly.

10. She gave up acting to enlist in the US Army.

There are those that have done this in the past as the need to serve the country that has given them so much has been a drive that has inspired some celebrities to go into active service and do their part. It still happens obviously but at the same time it doesn’t seem to get that much attention.

9. Carly has been an advocate for human trafficking victims.

This is something that’s near and dear to her heart since it is a massive problem in the world to this day and something that doesn’t seem to be slowing down all that often. People are doing their best, but at this time it seems that taking down so many traffickers only spurs more on.

8. She’s an animal rights activist as well.

Carly definitely has a big heart and wants to advocate the rights of her fellow humans and animals. Some might criticize her for this but everyone is entitled to their own opinion no matter what light a person is shed in.

7. She was supposed to be in the movie RV but had to back out.

It almost seems as though it was a good idea that she had to back out, not because of anything to do with her acting but because the idea of a redhead in her place just seemed to fit a little better. Added to that the fact that the movie didn’t do all that well it seems fair to say that it might have preserved her career just a bit.

6. Initially she was only supposed to be on one episode of Lizzie Maguire.

Apparently the producers were so impressed that they brought her back and she eventually became a regular character that was well-liked by the fans and was easily accepted into the series throughout its run.

5. She and a friend started up a travel blog.

Everyone’s got a blog these days it seems and a lot of them are different but a lot of them do serve a purpose since they tend to show their views and their interests to those that might not know such things about them.

4. Carly is a big Sons of Anarchy fan.

She actually named her dog after the main character of the series and a famous painter that she happens to like. It’s kind of a sad thing that SOA was finally allowed to go off the air, especially since its spinoff didn’t really have a great initial showing.

3. She kind of admits to being a camera hog.

This almost seems to be the idea that any actor should embrace since quite honestly a lot of them are on screen pretty often and need to be seen to build up their reputation so as to make it clear to people that they’re here and ready to be seen. It might be seen how being a camera hog can be kind of a negative thing at times but there are also times when it’s something that can be beneficial to the career of any actor.

2. Carly has a lot of optimism about life.

She seems like a very upbeat person and someone that doesn’t let a lot get her down. In fact it would seem that she’s taking this optimism into her term of service since she has a lot of hope that she’s going to be able to get in there and do something that will make her family proud and continue a legacy. Plus, she doesn’t want the men in her family to have all the fun, as she’s said in a very good-natured way.

1. She did work for print advertisers for a while.

Everyone had to start somewhere and she did a pretty good bit of business while she was at it.

No doubt she’ll do her country and family proud.
