“Looking for love in all the wrong places” maybe just one artist’s song lyrics but these words are the confessions for Tamara Joy who has been unlucky in getting real love. Tamara has settled to seek for a connection through being on a show “Married at First Sight,” but besides being an onscreen wife, here are ten facts you probably do not know about this 29-year-old.
1. She is the jealous and unrealistic type in relationships
Tamara confessed that she is jealous and can be very territorial when it comes to the person she is dating; the fact that she observes has been causing her relationships to fail. She also expects her man to be focused on her 100% all the time which she realizes is unrealistic. Her wanting to be dominant in the relationship, which she knows she should not, has been her weakness in previous relationships.
2. Tamara is looking for commitment
She has had a busy dating life, but her issue is that while she finds men attracted to her, they are only interested in hooking up instead of committing to her; they, therefore, end up ghosting her. Tamara wants someone she can settle down with and have a family.
3. Tamara’s inspiration for finding love is from her parents
Her parents met when her mum was 16, and they remained together ever since. Unfortunately, Tamara’s mum passed away three years ago after suffering from motor neuron diseases, and Tamara watched as her muscles slowly died with each passing day. Her parents’ marriage of 35 years made Tamara wish for such a connection.
4. She has used dating apps
Tamara has been so keen on finding love that she has used dating apps such as Tinder and Bumble. The apps were helpful since she met two guys through Tinder. However, the guys were only interested in hooking up, so the relationships did not last long.
5. Tamara has realized she has no patience by being on “Married at First Sight.”
Although Tamara did not know what she hoped she would learn from the show, she has come to understand that her tolerance is at zero. She thought she was a patient person but being on the show has made her realize otherwise.
6. Her deal breakers are noisy chewers and aggressive people
Tamara’s biggest deal breakers include those who smack as they chew and such occurrences make her cringe. Additionally, she cannot stand being with a person who does not know how to accept blame. For Tamara, if she is arguing with her partner and he deflects to turn it all around and blame her, that puts her off the relationship.
7. She has only had two serious boyfriends
For a person who admits she has had a busy dating life, Tamara has only had two serious boyfriends in her life. Her first one was in high school, and she cannot tell whether it was young love or young lust. Still, the relationship lasted for four and a half years, although it was mostly on and off.
The second serious boyfriend was six years ago, and they were together from 2013 to 2017. The couple was quite committed since they even lived together and had a dog.
8. Tamara was looking for a “Bonnie and Clyde” kind of marriage
She confessed on air, on an episode leading up to her commitment ceremony, that she wanted a marriage like “Bonnie and Clyde.” However, Tamara was clear that although she was looking for a real-life bad boy, she did not want a robber.
9. Tamara has been paired with a real-life bad boy
Her wanting to be with a real life bad boy as her husband is a fulfilled wish. Her partner, Daniel Webb is facing aggravated assault charges and is due to appear in court. Daniel is allegedly part of a scheme that created 12 fake companies and asked vulnerable people to be the puppet directors, in 2014. The scheme had investors investing $500 to $1000 to fund a 4-day trial of betting and investment software. The scam made between $15 million -$20 million and Daniel will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 29 February 2019.
10. Tamara did not capture Daniel’s attention immediately
According to Daniel Webb, the 35 —year-old onscreen husband to Tamara, he was not instantly attracted to Tamara and added that she is not the kind of girl he would strike a conversation with if they were to be in a bar. Daniel thinks she is pretty, but they did not agree on a few things. However, that will not stop him from giving the relationship a chance.
