Jane the Virgin is a popular show with fans that’s been airing on the CW for four seasons now. Recently, it was announced that a fifth season would indeed be forthcoming. Although it hasn’t aired yet, fans are clamoring to find out as much information as they can about this pivotal fifth season, especially when you consider the fact that this will be the final season for the show itself. Right now, there’s not a great deal of information out there about this fifth and final season for Jane the Virgin. That being said, there are a few key things that can be discussed.
The thing most fans have been concerned about more than anything else is whether or not all of the principal individuals involved in the show up to this point would return. It’s been a long time since the season four air date, so it’s a legitimate concern that some of the actors might have found a different gig by now and decided to move on. This can have dramatic and dire consequences on the success of a television show. When people become accustomed to certain actors playing specific characters, they don’t really like it when things get shaken up. Fortunately, it looks like everyone will be returning. That means that fans can enjoy having the opportunity to pick up where they left off at the end of season four. While the network isn’t going into any detail whatsoever, they have said that by the time the last episode of season five airs, the story will be complete and have a definitive conclusion. This is in stark contrast to many other series that are abruptly canceled and never have the opportunity to wrap things up.
Fans are understandably distraught that the show is coming to an end but at least they have the opportunity to watch that story come full circle instead of having it suddenly ended right in the middle of everything. That’s something to be celebrated, to say the least. At the moment, there is something of a social media frenzy going on because fans don’t want the show to end and they’re doing what they can to try to convince the powers-that-be that it should go on. However, it is known that filming has already been completed and there was a definitive conclusion to the show that will air in the last episode.
Even the actors are being tight-lipped about exactly what will occur during season five. After all, it’s really a lot more fun to watch a show when you don’t already know what’s going to happen ahead of time. During an age where social media gives people instant information and supposedly confidential information is currently leaked, it’s hard to keep a lid on anything but so far, they’re just doesn’t seem to be much information out there about season five of Jane the Virgin.
So, what is definitively known? It looks like the only thing that anyone knows for sure, aside from the fact that all of the principal actors are returning, is that it will begin airing sometime in January of next year. There isn’t even an exact release date yet. However, fans at least know which month they need to start paying attention so they’re not missing episodes.
Many people have been wondering how many episodes will be available in season five and that’s another thing that people are being fairly quiet about. It seems like the only thing you’re really going to be able to do in order to find out more information about the show is wait until January and then tune in. Right now, that probably seems like something akin to torture but once it actually starts, it can make the entire experience that much more meaningful. This is especially true when you know that a show you like is ending and you’re anxious to see how it all plays out. Showrunners do promise fans that they won’t be disappointed and everything that they’ve learned to love about Jane the Virgin over the previous four seasons will be present for the fifth and final season as well. Even though the show is definitely ending, fans have the opportunity to know that ahead of time and make sure that they don’t miss a single episode during season five. For the people that have come to love this show, it’s definitely going to be an event to be remembered.
