One big thing that a lot of people might know about Chris Ivery and that many would agree he has going for him is that he’s married to actress Ellen Pompeo, who is known particularly well thanks to her role on Grey’s Anatomy. But Chris has his own life and his own level of fame as well that he shares with his wife and family, even if a lot of people don’t seem to realize it. While he keeps his family mostly under wraps save for the information that he and Ellen allow to be known, he’s a very outgoing person that doesn’t seem to mind the spotlight now and again and is seen quite often with his wife in one place or another.
Here’s a few things you might not have known about him.
10. He’s a Boston Celtics fan.
One thing you never do is mess with a sports fan, but particularly a Boston Celtics fan among many. Staunch supporters of the Celtics are typically those that will seek to argue you under the table for having the temerity to say anything bad or even less than complimentary about their team. That’s usually during the season though, when it’s the off season it’s okay to talk about a person’s team, so long as you’re polite.
9. He and his wife met in a grocery store.
This seems like movie-level cuteness to many people as it does kind of have that spark that you would see in many films that just makes a person go “awww”. But be that as it may they started dating about six months after they met.
8. He’s a music producer.
He does have his own claim to fame and it’s something that is worth enough to keep his family well taken care of even with Ellen’s very well-known role and the salary it brings in. Together they make a great pair and a very good-looking couple.
7. There’s been a lot of gossip concerning scandalous affairs on his part.
It’s hard to know what’s real and what’s not when it comes to rumors and gossip these days since many people seem to love to spread the word around that this person is sleeping with that person, or that that person was seen with this person. The funny thing is that people can get together and NOT be fooling around, but it doesn’t sell any stories or get people to pay attention, so the spin is usually in.
6. He proposed on his wife’s birthday.
He’s definitely a romantic and this seems like it made her day doubly special. Imagine being proposed to on your birthday and then getting a look at the ring that your boyfriend decided to give you to prove his love and his commitment. Now that would be a special day.
5. They were married at City Hall.
There was no big, fancy wedding, as it seems like they wanted it simple and to the point. If they had a ceremony elsewhere it hasn’t been given much, if any, attention. But some folks don’t want the big hullabaloo, they just want to get married without the planning or the stress of having to go through setting everything up. In some cases this is pretty smart since planning a wedding can be pretty stressful.
4. He’s a Harvard graduate.
He’s not only romantic but obviously he’s pretty smart, at least enough so to get through a school like Harvard and come out the other side with a degree and the ability to tell people he made it through. A degree might not make you a genius, but managing to navigate your way through college and then become a successful businessman would argue that point.
3. His net worth is around $10 million.
So obviously he’s more successful than a lot of people know since you don’t gather that kind of net worth just by graduating college or marrying a famous actress. Those that work for it and those that are born into it can claim this, but otherwise it doesn’t just come to you.
2. He’s an introvert.
It might not look like it since he’s all smiles for the camera and seems like he has a good time when he’s out and about with his wife, but introverts can make people believe that they’re comfortable when deep down they just want to go home and be in their comfort zone. It’s not too hard to put on a mask and pretend to be having a great time, even if you really are having a good time, but introverts tend to prefer their solitude, be it at home or just somewhere else where the people aren’t.
1. He Punk’d his wife at one point.
When the show Punk’d was still being hosted by Ashton Kutcher Chris decided to participate and tipped a waitress an insane amount of money. This of course made Ellen a bit jealous, but it was revealed to her that she’d been Punk’d shortly after.
Laughter and a bit of pranking makes for a stronger marriage, right?
