Days of Our Lives fans are going to see Kate share with Chad. She’s got to clue him in to what is happening now that she is rescued and better. She has to share with him that his wife is suffering from a severe form of multiple personality disorder, and she is not herself. She’s not the same person she was in the past. She’s not the same person he knows. And she’s not in control of her own mind and body. She has no idea how to stop Gabby — and Gabby is not Abby.
This does two things for Chad. For one, it eases his mind and heart knowing that the woman he loves is not the woman he’s been dealing with. She didn’t cheat on him or leave him or make his life miserable. She’s in there. On the other hand, it also crushes him to know his wife is struggling, being forced out of her own mind, and being controlled by something ugly. And he has to fix her.
His wife is now a victim. His own brother took her to bed knowing that he was using Abigail’s body even though she was not able to consent to what they did. She’s a rape victim, and she’s a victim in many other ways, too. He will do whatever he can to make this stop, to save her, and to make it right in her life. He will not give up, and he will be there for her.
