Five Current TV Shows That Deserve Better Time Slots

There are just those time slots in prime time television that are considered to be the death sentence. It doesn’t matter how good of a show it is; if it’s on the worst time slot in the week, it’s only a matter of time before its survival is up. Good shows might be able to last a few seasons, but bad shows stand no chance to the curse of the weekend showing. We’ve come across too many great shows in the past that have succumbed to such fatality in viewership numbers because of crappy time slots. Here are five current shows that have fallen into the trap that deserve much better than the time slots they’ve been given.

Scorpion, Mondays 10/9 PM CST

It was exciting at first, looking forward to staying up late on Monday nights to catch up on the geniuses of Scorpion. But then the difficult Tuesday mornings just got to be a bit too much. Scorpion is now in its 4th season and the ratings have clearly gone down by the millions since its 1st. Monday nights are great for shows, but 10 PM is just a little late for the average working American.

Legion, Wednesdays 10/9 PM CST

This fairly new superhero show is as promising as any superhero show could be. It’s different, it’s good, and it stars Dan Stevens. What more could anyone ask for? Again, it’s slotted for the middle of the week, but the time slot is just killer. Maybe that’s why it gets so hard to understand the show sometimes; we might be just too tired to keep up with the storyline.

How to Get Away With Murder, Thursdays 10/9 PM CST

Here’s another great show that’s in its 4th season and is going strong. We’re asking why they haven’t moved the show into a better time slot altogether. Loyal fans can tune in; Friday is Friday anyway. But this show deserves more viewers just because of how good it is. Thursday night is another great time slot, but it’s hard to compete with Grey’s Anatomy in that case. It may be time to move it to a new day altogether, but an earlier time would be nice.

Blue Bloods, Fridays 10/9 PM CST

This long-running cop show has been surviving its Friday night showing for the past few years now, but it certainly deserves better. There’s nothing like watching NYPD’s First Family of Law Enforcement, but to have to wait until Friday night to catch up on an episode is just unacceptable.

Jane the Virgin, Fridays 9/8 PM CST

We all love Jane and love seeing the story of her week after week. But seriously, her love life is starting to impede with ours. As much as we love to watch Jane the Virgin, it comes on right when we’re about to step out on Friday nights. This show is probably one of the most well-written rom-coms in current times; it really deserves better than a 9 PM Friday showing.
