Lindsay Lohan is the New Spokesperson for Lawyer.com?

The world is truly a twisted place sometimes when you consider that now Lindsay Lohan is the spokesperson for Lawyer.com. Yes, you read that right, Lindsay Lohan, one of the celebrities that’s been in the most trouble with the law in the last decade or so, is now the spokesperson for a company called Lawyer.com. One thing you can definitely say is that she knows how to find a good lawyer since it’s a miracle she hasn’t been in jail for more than the 14 days she spent a while back. The only reason she was let out really was that it was overcrowded, which really seems like a paltry excuse when you think about it since some jails manage to stack people into rooms without releasing any of them. But then again it was just a 90-day sentence that would have garnered a lot more time for anyone that wasn’t famous at one point in their lives.

Cynical much? Oh yes, yes, and yes again, largely because no matter that Lohan is doing her best to stay on the straight and narrow now, having her be the spokesperson for Lawyer.com is like some grand, cosmic joke that some people might not even get since they probably stopped paying attention to her a while ago. The mere fact that she got to skip so much jail time is one reason why it’s funny, and the fact that she couldn’t stay out of trouble for so long makes it even funnier. So she’s cleaned up now and is living a great life. That’s wonderful and all, but it’s still a testament to the fact that celebrities rarely pay for the mistakes they make or the laws they violate. When you can toss money at a problem to make it go away the responsibility aspect seems to go unnoticed as the law turns a blind eye while putting its hand out to grease the wheel and make things happen.

It goes without saying that she was probably scared to be called up by a company called Lawyer.com. She might have thought that there was something else she’d done that she hadn’t been held accountable for yet, meaning that she could have been in trouble yet again. But the idea of them actually getting a hold of her almost seems like it was bound to be practical joke that everyone would be in on except for her. Yet it seems like a very legit thing and if she is in fact living a sober life right now then perhaps it might turn out for the best. A conspiracy theorist might deduce that this would be some kind of community service deal instigated by the courts for another indiscretion that we haven’t heard about, but seems like it would be stretching things a bit and past a reasonable level.

Like her or not Lohan is still a celebrity and seemed to make inroads towards gaining her fan base back and showing that she’s still worth the effort. This just seemed really funny is all.
