Five Things You Didn’t Know about Ryan McPartlin

Ryan McPartlin kind of seems like an actor that’s not so soaked into the acting culture that he would know little else. In other words he seems like the kind of guy that’s more into acting as a means of doing something interesting than setting himself above anyone in any particular field. In some ways he doesn’t seem all that egotistical or even as though he’s capable of measuring himself against other people in anything but the most professional of terms. That kind of mentality is hard to find at times in Hollywood.

It’s almost a working-class mentality mixed with that of a scholar almost.

5. He’s a certified personal trainer.

Those that have this kind of profession under their belt tend to go into acting or towards a more fitness-oriented career it would seem. They have the skills needed to keep themselves and anyone else they interact with in shape, but they might also have the patience and dedication it would take for other areas of life that could make use of such skills.

4. He moved to Southern California to pursue a career in acting.

Moving to Southern Cali for acting seems to be a trend among a lot of people since of course that’s where Hollywood is and that’s where the gateway to the acting world seems to lie in the eyes of many. It’s a hard road to travel for a lot of people however since Hollywood tends to suck people up and, if they’re not careful, spit them out pretty quickly. So far Ryan seems like he’s been making a serious go of things and is in no danger of being forgotten and tossed aside.

3. After graduation he spent time in Australia.

He went backpacking throughout the outback in an attempt to find out just what he wanted to do with his life. That’d be one way to do it, as others just go on a road trip or do something equally introspective in an attempt to find the course they want to follow. Everyone does it differently however, but usually the revelation does come and when it does it’s time to pick the path and follow it.

2. He auditioned twice for the Superman Returns movie.

In the looks and physical stature department he would probably be just fine, but the part of Superman/Clark Kent is a very coveted role and isn’t allowed to go to just anyone based solely on the premise that they want it. The fact that he auditioned twice means that he’s serious about his career and wants a shot but such a part is usually meant for someone that can wow the audience, and unfortunately he’s not quite there.

1. He’s a big John Hughes fan.

He’s a big fan of the Second City talent and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is one of his favorite films. John Hughes is after all one of the most iconic directors to ever cross through Hollywood, so at least he’s got good taste.

There’s always a chance that he could make it big eventually.
