Young and the Restless fans spent a lot of time feeling very sorry for Nick this week. His life is a mess, but it’s kind of always been a mess don’t you think? He’s not someone who ever seems to make the best decision. He’s always been a bit of a rebel who doesn’t fit in with his own family. He’s made poor decisions in the past, and he continues to make poor decisions right now. We wonder if that is something that’s working against him right now. Perhaps this newfound moment of sadness is something he created for himself by the way he lives.
It’s not a secret he’s had a rough year losing his brother, becoming romantically involved with his dead brother’s wife, losing his club to a fire, losing his money, and feuding with his father. But to find out that his beloved son is not his son is too much.
And we can’t think that he will handle this very well on the heels of all that plus the knowledge that his girlfriend is not who he thinks she is. She’s someone with a shady past and a very questionable future, and his life feels as if it’s falling apart. To be honest, it is falling apart. He can’t pick up these pieces without some serious help, and we don’t know where he’s going to find that. He might assume in Sharon, but she’s also been lying to him — and that will kill him.
