New Game “Ghostbusters World” Coming to Mobile Soon

There’s a new game called Ghostbusters World coming to Android and iOS soon, and it’s going to be similar to the Pokemon Go game that we saw people playing some time ago. So far the game hasn’t been released yet but should be coming soon. There’s a few mixed feelings about the game since on one hand Ghostbusters is a widely known franchise and an oldie but goodie from the past that people might enjoy, but on the other hand the game is set up pretty much like Pokemon Go. What that means is that there could be a lot of people disregarding traffic laws as they’re trying to go after ‘ghosts’ that will be visible on their screen. While there wasn’t much of an epidemic with Pokemon it’s still a concern that needs to be addressed.

Perhaps if the programmers were to find a way to add in a sensor of some sort, if it’s possible, that could allow a person’s phone to emit a warning signal when they’re about to step into danger then things might be okay. Until then too many people seem to keep their eyes glued to the screen and don’t look up often enough to see where they’re going. During the Pokemon Go craze a lot of people were seen walking around like mindless drones with their eyes glued to their screens and nowhere else. It’s not just the fact that this would take them into direct contact with a speeding car or an obstacle they could have easily avoided, it did tend to take some people onto property that wasn’t theirs.

Personal accounts didn’t include much more than a few people walking on front lawns, but had it been allowed to go literally anywhere then there’s a good chance that there might have been a small rash of brief incarcerations for people sneaking into backyards, patios, and the like. It seems obvious that programmers would attempt to find a way around this so that the game can keep from getting so many players in trouble, but the main concern is that they be encouraged to actually look up from time to time. The game looks like it might be fun but the whole idea of a game like this is that you have a good time and don’t get hurt in the process. Since the format is going to be essentially like Pokemon Go one can only surmise that we’ll be seeing more people wandering the streets, perhaps even making their own sound effects or yelling at imaginary ghosts as they try to capture them.

Honestly it seems like a fun way to spend your time, if you have any free time that is, but the safety measures that need to be taken are something that we can hope will be taken into account this time. The last thing anybody, especially the players, need is to lose track of where they are and realize that those pair of lights bearing down on them are a bus and not a ghost.
