Gigi Gorgeous is an internet personality, model, part-time actress, and has been heavily involved with speaking out on the rights for LGBTQ individuals whenever she can. Her life has been something of a newsworthy story since he hit about the age of 19 and came out as a gay male first and then began to undergo the transition to the person she is now. It’s been a long journey so far it would seem but she has plenty more to share and to say about her life and the rights of those like her.
And there is a lot to say.
5. She’s a transgender female.
Just saying this still sparks a lot of debate in certain areas of the world since the line of thinking for some people hasn’t diverged enough to accept the lifestyles of those that are seeking to be comfortable in their own skin. How much of a debate you might find in different areas has a lot to do with the overall mindset of the community and whether or not transgender individuals are accepted or merely tolerated.
4. She was deported from Dubai.
In 2016 Gigi was detained and not allowed to enter Dubai since the UAE does not allow transgender individuals into their country. She stated that her passport identified her as female but the Dubai officials claimed it said male. She was detained four around five hours but had she entered could have been looking towards at least a year of incarceration since the act of men dressing like women in the UAE is a punishable offense. Thankfully she was released, but she would later speak out against this treatment and call for equality.
3. Her real name is Giselle Loren Lazzarato.
That’s the name that she took upon becoming a transgender female but any name prior to this is not fully known. It’s a nice name really and would probably be better served than her stage name, but to each their own. Everyone’s got to find their own personality and sense of style when it comes to naming themselves as many people have figured out. Besides, a name is what you’re given when you’re born, there’s nothing saying you can’t change it.
2. She’s done some work modeling.
Gigi has shown up in a number of fashion magazines so far in her career and has been making headway for LGBTQ individuals everywhere as she keeps going online in an effort to fight the good fight and help people become aware of the plight that people such as her go through on a daily basis. Her modeling is just one way in which she manages to reach so many people throughout the world and give them something to hope for.
1. She was a nationally-ranked diving champion.
This is one of the only accomplishments that doesn’t seem to have a lot to do with anything she’s done for the LGBTQ society but I can honestly think that something might be spun out of this to say otherwise. Right now her life seems to be devoted to spreading the word and making sure people gain a better understanding of what individuals like herself have to go through.
It’s something the world needs to wake up to.
