This is a dad that knows how to parent as he’s been busily creating Hogwarts, pieces of it anyway, out of ice for the enjoyment of his daughters. So far it looks like he’s got Dumbledore’s chair, part of the Great Hall with the owls and the pillars even, and a slide that his girls can enjoy as he continues to work on the finer details. Apparently it’s been getting so big that it’s been gaining more and more attention, and even creeping into the neighbor’s yard. Hopefully his neighbor is the understanding type, though it would seem like they are so far from the images given. After all it’s not every day that someone shows this kind of aptitude when it comes to the Harry Potter franchise. Well it kind of is, but this is still something special since it’s not just being done for effect, but also for his kids.
It’s an interesting thing to think that the generation of children growing up at this point will look at the Harry Potter franchise far differently than the rest of us will since they’re just coming into and will never get to see it grow and expand as we did. They will no doubt have their own franchises that will stem from the ground up and expand as their imaginations grow and become something worthy of note, but this particular franchise doesn’t seem like it will be moving forward anytime soon unless someone daring enough comes up with an idea of how to create something equally unique and capable of attracting the eye of the public. J.K. Rowlings created something that was not initially meant to become a blockbuster and could have just as easily been relegated to the slush pile for all eternity, finding inspiration within her own life it seems to create a world that was not only vibrant with detail but was wrought with her own personal feelings and life experiences.
So much has come from the Harry Potter stories that has been taken to heart and used as inspiration by so many that it’s easy to see just how Rowlings got the ball started in the beginning. She took her own personal pain and created something worth reading and then worth watching as it blossomed into a moment in movie history when the entire world stopped to pay attention. Movies come and movies go, but this is something that will end up lasting for more than a lifetime I am certain since one generation after another has picked up on it and has embraced it fully. What Rowlings brought to the world is something that’s bound to keep on inspiring people so long as it’s kept around.
As for this impressive bit of constructive art this dad has the right idea of it. Make the movie something that his kids can enjoy and fully appreciate while having a good time creating something wonderful and more than a little impressive. Give them a memory they’ll be able to hold onto and cherish for the rest of their lives.
