It seems like almost everyone is a fan of the well known author Stephen King, at least to some degree. You may not necessarily be a fan of all of his books, but you can rest assured that there is something for practically everyone in the plethora of material that he has created over the years. Without a doubt, a number of his books have been turned into television mini series and even major motion pictures. In fact, one could argue that his books have been transformed into some form of on-screen entertainment more than a lot of the other authors out there. He might even be near the top of the list when it comes to authors who have had their books turned into movies. This summer, he can add one more to that list.
As you probably already know, Hulu is really getting into the entertainment business by creating some of its own unique material. Following in the footsteps of Netflix and other streaming venues, Hulu is creating its own entertainment value by becoming involved in unique television series that are only available through this particular streaming avenue. This summer, it will allow fans once again go into the realm of Stephen King with a new show called Castle Rock. The show is designed to take elements from different works that the author has created over the years and meld them together into something new as opposed to simply recreating something that has already been told on paper.
As such, Castle Rock will have brand new ideas and new storylines for each episode. These episodes tie into Stephen King by referencing different landmark things from the many different stories the author has written. For example, anybody that reads a lot of Stephen King knows that Castle Rock is one of his favorite fictional towns, hence the name of the show.
While not everything is known about the series just yet, a commercial for it will debut during the upcoming Super Bowl. This commercial promises to reference the famed Shawshank prison, referencing one of Stephen King’s most prolific works. Fans of the author will no doubt be excited to see what else comes up during the series.
One thing is certain, this show promises to be entertaining at the very least. At its best, it just might be capable of gathering a cult-like following that is reserved for only the most storied forms of entertainment. It certainly has enough material to form a solid foundation. Perhaps even more importantly, the show is capable of getting viewers that are already fans of Stephen King. It also appeals to audiences that like television entertainment that doesn’t deal with a lot of mainstream issues. The popularity of recent shows that have a similar theme indicates a lot of promise for this particular endeavor as well. As a result, many people are anxiously awaiting this summer so they can see it for themselves. Who knows, this could potentially be one of the most lucrative Stephen King adaptations to ever come along.
