The Top Five Uses of Cher Songs in Movies or TV

Cher is the kind of actress that has just about done it all in her career. She’s been a singer, a co-host to a TV show, and she’s done a lot of stuff behind the scenes that a lot of people don’t even know about. Her road to fame has been long and not without controversy, but has still been highly successful for a good many years. There have been times when her popularity kind of drops off but she usually finds a way to surge back without much trouble as she’ll pop back into the public eye again with a performance, a concert, or some bit of news that is worth looking and thus propels her forward. To many she’s a timeless classic that is a living legend in her own time, and that image is the one that many want to keep.

Honestly she’s a woman you either love or just don’t think much about.

5. Burlesque

As the owner and operator of her own business Cher has to struggle with in-fighting among her employees and a host of other problems that come with operating your own club. She’s a hard-nosed woman that doesn’t take a lot of guff off of anyone and isn’t about to be pushed around.  The movie didn’t get great reviews but she played her part wonderfully.

4. Witches of Eastwick

Three women discover what it means to make a deal with the devil in a way when they suddenly develop new and frightening powers that they have to learn how to control. The individual that gave them these powers soon comes to regret it when they turn on him and show just how skillful they’ve become with their newly acquired skills. It’s somewhere between a thrilling fantasy and a comedy.

3. Mermaids

It’s a difficult thing for a kid to have to be the adult in the family when the mother is used to stepping out, partying, and doing whatever she wants to do. In this film the mother and the daughter have nothing in common save for their genetics and even that is in question sometimes since the two of them act in such a different manner.  Of course that only makes it harder for both of them.

2. Moonstruck

There’s something about the moon that simply makes people go nuts at times. It’s said to bring a sort of madness that can’t be fully guarded against and makes people fall in love at the sight of it. Yet for all that the fact that Nic Cage and Cher fall in love in this movie seems to be more a matter of mutual attraction than it does any celestial body that might somehow affect one’s hormones.

1. Mask

Cher has this tendency to play very irresponsible women in her movies even though she’s gone the other way a couple of times. In Mask she plays the mother of Rocky Dennis, Rusty, and while she loves her son and is devoted to him there are moments when it seems to be more about her than him.

However she might be in private, in films she is kind of a carefree and very wild soul that doesn’t like to be tamed.
