Five TV Characters We Hated Most in 2017

There are some characters on TV that just seem designed for people to hate them and in 2017 it’s been so very easy to absolutely despise some of them. They tend to be the most vile, ruthless people that know how to get what they want and are not above using trickery and even thuggery to get it. That’s what makes them so perfect for their shows however since they won’t hesitate to go megaton at the drop of a hat and really dig in with their heels until they get what it is that they want.  This can infuriate viewers since those that watch these shows so religiously desperately want to see these characters get their comeuppance but rather ever do since that’s just not what the writers are paid to do. They’ve got to follow the line of the story, which means that the hated characters get to have their way far more often.

It’s a bit frustrating for those of us that want to see justice in our fiction too, but it keeps the story rolling.

5. Juliette Barnes-Nashville

Juliette has worked hard to get where she is but there are times when she’s kind of a spoiled, pampered little brat that doesn’t know when to say thank you for the support and instead takes out her frustrations on those that don’t deserve it. Hayden has kind of gone up and down in terms of her popularity throughout the years but as an adult she’s played some truly suspect characters.

4. Lucius Lyon-Empire

He’s the face of the show and he’s one of the worst human beings alive to be perfectly honest. There isn’t a soul in the world that Lucius wouldn’t betray if it meant keeping himself alive and in a position of power. He’d probably sell those that he cares about the most down the river if it was the best idea at the moment. This is kind of a perfect role for Terrance Howard since he can be a truly amazing character and then he can turn around and be an extremely terrible one.

3. Claire Dunphy-Modern Family

Really she plays the part of a warm and caring mom in about the same vein as Mrs. Voorhees, Jason’s mother. She criticizes just about everything, suffers from a severe case of martyrdom, and yet brings so much on herself at times due to her manic behavior that you can’t really feel that sorry for her. She is a control freak that has yet to realize that she has little if any real control in her life.

2. Negan-The Walking Dead

People love Negan just as much as they hate him since he’s a character with a great amount of charisma and knows how to work the audience into a fervor. So many people were hoping that at this current point that Negan and Rick would finally meet, fight, and end the war that it was kind of a letdown how the mid-season finale ended. He’s still a colossal pain in the backside though and for a number of reasons.

1. Cersei Lannister-Game of Thrones

It’s odd that the most reprehensible character on GoT isn’t the Night King. I mean really, the guy killed a dragon. He stormed the Wall and obliterated it. He plans on cascading down from the north with his army of undead. And yet he’s still not the worst person in all of Westeros. Cersei Lannister had him beat by the time she was able to talk.

There are a lot of most hated characters on TV right now. These were just the most vile and annoying.
