Oh my stomach, my head, Lindsay Lohan want to make a Mean Girls 2. She seems to have forgotten there was already a Mean Girls 2 that went straight to DVD. And there’s another thing she needs to get back if she wants this movie to go anywhere, the original cast. Chances are if she’s very lucky and possibly grovels a bit it could happen, but groveling is definitely not in Lohan’s nature, which is a good and a bad thing really. It’s good because no one should be made to grovel, but it’s bad since it means that she’s still possessed of the kind entitled attitude that says she should be a megastar when in reality she had the chance and blew it.
Still, there are those that seem willing to give her a chance even after all the drama she’s caused in her own life. Tina Fey is attempting to bring Mean Girls to the stage, and has conceded that it might be possible to do a Mean Girls 2 since a lot of fans didn’t consider the direct to DVD version a true sequel. Lohan is adamant about making this movie and getting back into a music career that never really seemed to get its legs when she first kicked it off. Lohan had a great deal of promise and could have gone somewhere with her career years ago but for one reason or another started screwing up left and right with drug charges that painted her in a very ill light.
Plus the fact that she has a less than stellar record of actually making it to the court dates that were a result of her wild and frivolous lifestyle didn’t help her fame any. She became such a huge liability that people essentially turned their backs on her, deciding that she wasn’t worth the time and effort it took to build up any longer. Not everyone gave up on her obviously, but her reputation has been damaged beyond full repair some believe. Now that she wants to get back into the swing of things a lot of folks are a little hopeful but are waiting for the other shoe to drop when she screws up again.
We can only hope that she stays clean, sober, and rational as she tries to get this project together, but then there’s another issue. The original cast members are all older now, and there’s no way that any of them could pass for teenagers. So what will be the premise? Will they be attending a class reunion? There are no details at the moment since there is no film as of yet, but if Lohan gets her way there very well might be. She wants the entire cast back which might be difficult, but not impossible.
She’s also going to try her hand at singing again and has already contacted the likes of Eminem to see about making a collaborative album or song so that she can back into the mix.
