Born in May of 1989, Brandon Mychal Smith is an American actor and has played roles in many popular television shows that have gotten him a lot of fans, won him awards and has helped him build a successful career in acting. One of his most iconic roles was on the Disney Channels series, So Random (Sonny with a Chance). He started his acting career young and although he has primarily been in television roles, his career extends beyond this. He has also been in films, commercials and is an upcoming rapper. 1. Started acting young
Smith got his start kind of early. Like a lot of stars, Michael started early by taking his first role in a commercial, and it wasn’t just a little commercial with no-name celebs. He took a part in a Nike commercial and he was acting opposite one of the biggest golf stars in history – Tiger Woods. This is where it all began and it has only been upward for him, from there.
2. Is close with his family
Smith is a family man. He has claimed that he is very close with his family and has remained close, living in Los Angeles, CA where he is not only physically in close proximity to his parents and younger sister, Kimberly, but they have a tight relationship. Since he was born in LA, it’s good that he has set up home there so he can continue to be close to his best support system.
3. Was an avid roller skater

For Smith, he was an avid roller skater. Smith won a Family Television Award and a Young Artist Award for his the role he played portraying Tayshawn in the Emmy Award-nominated TV movie, The Ron Clark Story, which played opposite Matthew Perry, back in 2006. Other film credits he has to his name include, Gridiron Gang. where he played opposite Dwayne The Rock, Johnson, with Nick Cannon. He may not have won an award for his portrayal of Little Richard in Get On Up, the 2014 biopic. But he certainly won critical acclaims for his performance.
5. Arrested for DUI
In July of this year, Smith was pulled over for overshooting his stop at a stop sign and was pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving. He was tested at twice the legal limit and was placed in jail for several hours before he was finally released. There apparently has still been a statement that his fans and others, were hoping he’d give on the situation, but he has yet to address the allegations.
6. On a skating competition show
Like Dancing with the Stars, there is Skating with the Stars, and Smith participated in the competition. As mentioned before, he was an avid skater and competitions were part of what he liked to do. Unfortunately, during this competition, he was unable to finish the show due to an illness.
7. Has taken an ambulance ride

Smith has been linked to other relationships in the past, just looking at his social media, however, currently he is not only dating a girl, but living with her. He is currently involved with a Canadian actress, Maggie Castle, and the two have been living together for quite some time, though no hints of engagement or marriage are out there. They met during the filming of Starstruck in 2009. Even though this seems to be the case, according to his social media, it claims he is still single.
9. Heading for America’s Got Talent
It has been said that Smith is planning to be replacing one of the judges on the popular show, America’s Got Talent. Who he’ll ne replacing is Nick Cannon on the very popular NBC TV show and I bet he slides into that position with ease.
