Kevin Hart has developed a new streaming service that is called “Laugh Out Loud.” It is an innovative creation that goes a long way in helping aspiring comedians who are just getting their start a new platform. This shows us where his heart truly is. The veteran comedian and actor knows how tough it can be when you’re trying to become established in the industry, so this is his contribution to give the next generation of funny men and women a hand up in the business.
What it is
Hart has teamed up with Lionsgate for his new venture. It is a streaming service that is geared for use with mobile phones. The content includes comedies that are both scripted and unscripted. It also features specials for stand ups, licensed programming, live broadcasts and other comedic special events. Other members who joined this effort are Tiffany Haddish and Snoop Dogg. The group has established a place where anybody can come to laugh and feel comfortable.
Why mobile?
Since smartphones have moved from the latest rage to the established form of communication in the last decade, this is the platform that made the most sense. It adds convenience for users and viewers. It has been a dream in the making for more than two years. The comedy experience is now available on the small screen for smartphone users.
Who will be featured?
Hart hasn’t said that he will be appearing in any of the streams, but he’s not saying that he wont. He has written some of the content himself, however. The Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer isn’t pressuring Kevin to commit a large amount of his tie to the new venture, but he is going to be instrumental in bringing the viewers on board.
Hart is definitely looking for “the new and the hungry” as has made clear in an interview. The streaming service is design to be “artist friendly” and this is what separates it from some other ventures on the market today. We’re not certain yet, who is going to be featured. From the sounds of it, we’re going to get a taste of some new talent that that is just what the world needs today. Hart did allude to the fact that they will be making opportunities in the comedic world so this is a good indication that there is going to be some fresh water pouring into the pool of comedy.
The cost
They’re going to keep the cost down to a reasonable price of $2.99. This makes it affordable for practically anyone. It is, after all, a streaming service, which means that you can expect to receive quality streams, some of them live. It takes a lot of overhead to ensure that all of the programs will work correctly and this seems like a reasonable contribution from listeners and viewers who want to catch their daily dose of humor on the run. We think that Kevin Hart is on to something here. He’s taken the concept of what has already been done and improved on it, adding more opportunities for other people who want to get their acts in front of the public.
