By now you know exactly what a foodie is. A foodie is, quite simply, a person with an interest in food and how to make it in various different ways, preferably a gourmet. It doesn’t take much to declare yourself a foodie, just a passion for and desire to cook and prepare great food in a number of different and attractive ways. There are a vast number of foodies in the world right now that are attempting to bump their numbers up and attract even more viewers to their cause. A few of them however are definitely heads above the rest as they’ve managed to secure their fame by obtaining their own TV shows on which they can reach millions upon millions of viewers at a time. Many of them have obtained quite a following and have enjoyed a great amount of personal as well as professional success.
Here are some of the top foodies on TV as of now.
5. Duff Goldman
He’s been named Culinary Ambassador by the White House, so you can easily imagine that Duff has more than earned his way to the top. He’s a fabulous cake baker but he’s also a great chef as well. He got his start working in bagel shops and eventually graduated to baking. To date his owns his own business, has his own show, and is dedicated to success and to insuring that others are given the same opportunity.
4. Anthony Bourdain
He’s kind of the bad boy of the culinary world and the traveler that’s not afraid to dip into any experience that seems like it might be interesting. Seriously, have you ever seen some of the food he eats? By the standards of some people the digestive tract of an animal wouldn’t necessarily be counted as food, but if you’ve watched his show you’ve seen him eat one.
3. Haylie Duff
She’s the older sister of famed pop singer Hillary Duff, but that’s not where she got her fame. Haylie focuses largely on health-conscious foods and the type of meals that can offer the body nutrition and the energy needed to get through your day in spectacular fashion. Unlike a lot of cooks she’ll actually admit that she wasn’t that great starting out, which is actually inspiring to hear.
2. Jeff Mauro
He’s been labeled as the Sandwich King largely because he seems able to fit most anything into a sandwich and has showcased this more than once in his career. He’s been known to teach cooking classes, host his own show, and has even gone to Hollywood where he tried his hand at comedy. A lot of people look at him as the big lovable goofball that knows his way around the kitchen, which is more than a little endearing.
1. Katie Lee
Despite not having a culinary degree Lee has been seriously rocking the foodie scene with her Southern style of cooking. She’s written cookbooks, hosted her own show, and proven that despite being the new girl on the block she knows exactly what she’s doing. Having started at the tender age of 4 however with her grandmother one can only assume that she’s anything but green when it comes to cooking.
There are a lot of foodies out there as of now, but it takes something truly special to be considered one of the best.
