The television drama, The Fosters, is taking no prisoners as free-flow television series. The focus of the show has always been to provide entertainment while addressing a number of social issues that have historically been untouchable on mainstream television, and so far, the show has not disappointed fans in this area. While a great deal of focus is placed on a lesbian couple rearing a mixed ethnic group of foster kids along with one biological child. There is so much more going on underneath the surface of this powerhouse.
One thing that has been refreshing is the level of young talent the show was able to amass to round out its cast. One of the talented cast members in question is Danny Nucci, who plays Mike Foster on the series. Here are five facts about Danny to help you get in touch with who he is.
1. He is Italian Born
Danny Nucci is no stranger to the world of entertainment. He has been acting in the U.S. since the mid-1980s and he has made the most of the opportunities that have been afforded to him. Although he was born in Italy, his parents moved to the U.S. when he was seven and he has adapted to the West and made it his oyster.
2. He is Also A Singer
Danny made a name for himself as a singer as well. He is very diverse and talented young man that still has so much to discover about himself. He has actually been around in the U.S. for a while, appearing in films such as The Rock, Titanic, and Eraser, but he has not experienced the same level of success with his singing career. It is not clear if he is placing any significant effort into pursuing his singing career at this point in his career.
3. He Has Roots in Queens, New York
Although Danny chose to pursue his acting and singing career in Italy, it appears that he has actually been in the U.S. for quite some time. His parents left their home in Venice, Italy when Danny was seven and they moved to Queens. The family would eventually settle in the San Fernando Valley in the state of California, where Danny would eventually graduate from Grant High School.
4. He has Worked As a Valet
Danny didn’t decide that he was going to take acting seriously immediately, despite having landed numerous roles as a kid. Like many young kids, he needed time to figure out what he wanted to do. During this time he worked as a valet. Actually, working as a valet can be a motivating experience. When you are constantly parking cars that cost more than many peoples homes, it can lead you to want to live the life of the people that drive those cars. I am not sure that being a valet drove Danny into acting, but it would surprise me if it did.
5. His First Big Break Was on General Hospital
The first big break that Danny got was on the long-standing daytime soap opera, General Hospital. He would go on to land roles on popular shows like Mr. Belvedere and Hell Town. It was not long before word spread around Hollywood that this kid had the skills and charisma to take on almost any role that was placed in front of him. It is no surprise that he was called on to fill a role on the powerful new drama series The Fosters.
And don’t forget he was in Titanic!
