There are certain television series that completely transcend the era in which they are released. One show that definitely falls in this category is Breaking Bad. This show has taken its viewers on a ride that they will never be able to forget. One of the central characters in the show was played by Dean Norris, who also has a key role in the new television series, Claws. Norris presents a hardcore image that he is able to sell with what seems to be minimal effort. But as we know, the characters that actors and actresses play can be light years away from who they really are as a person.
In getting to know so little-known facts about Dean Norris, it becomes clear that he has much more to offer than what is presented in his characters on Claws and Breaking Bad.
1. He Is A Harvard Graduate
While logic tells us that there is no particular type of appearance and personality for students who attend and graduate from Harvard, we still find it hard to believe that certain people not only attended Harvard but thrived and graduated from the school with honors. Dean Norris falls into this category. Maybe he has just sold his tough guy persona so well that it has become virtually impossible to see him in any other light except that of a wise guy or thug.
2. He is a South Bend Native
If you ask the average person who is from the South Bend area, they will tell you that there is nothing there but the life of a Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan. You literally live and breathe the Irish. If you are not an Irish fan it is hard to maintain yourself. Maybe this is why Dean chose to leave South Bend for what he considered to be greener pastures, but deep down inside, he is, and will always be, a Fighting Irish fan.
3. He is Actually an Exceptional Gardener
If attending Harvard wasn’t enough of a character buster for Dean, let’s add in the fact that he spends a reasonable amount of time gardening. Okay, I get it – gardening is therapeutic and it can help one escape all of the images that can become ingrained in the mind of a person who plays such devious roles, but once again, our image of dean and gardening simply don’t mix.
4. He is An Aries
Some people are deeply rooted in astrology and the zodiac system. For those people who literally make their decision based on the alignment of the stars, it is obviously worth knowing that Dean is an Aries. I am certain that to some of you this has some very deeply expressed meaning that makes Dean even more interesting and worthy of his celebrity. Interesting.
5. He Has Wanted to Be an Entertainer His Entire Life
Some people make the decision to going into acting or singing early in life while others make the decision after being influenced later in life. There does not seem to be any one clear path to becoming an entertainer, but those who start earlier seem to have been more involved in the unfolding of their earlier years. Dean admits that he knew that he was going be an entertainer as early as five. That is stability at its finest – waking up every morning knowing exactly where you are headed.
