Predator’s 30th Anniversary: Of Course We’re Sharing the Arm Wrestling Scene

Predator’s 30th Anniversary: Of Course We’re Sharing the Arm Wrestling Scene

It’s hard to believe that Predator was released into the wild 30 years ago but it’s true.  This movie was the personification of 80s action movie bravado and many consider it to be one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s finest action films.  With a cast of burly muscle men, a rambunctious little refugee and an alien the likes of which we never saw on film, Predator remains one of fan’s and Hollywood’s favorite action films of all-time.

Look, let’s cut the crap.  You’ve seen Predator.  If you haven’t seen it you shouldn’t be reading this site.  You know how great it is.  You know how awesome the lines are (“any time,” get to the choppah!”).  You know that Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura are in this film.  I could go on but what’s the point?  We all love this movie.

But if there’s one scene, one moment that encapsulates all that is 80s action movie it’s the arm wrestling scene between Dutch and Dillon.  Basically this is the scene that says 80s action movies were all about being ripped, being shiny and sweaty, and not hiding steroid use at all in film.

Happy 30th Predator!
