I was watching the original Predator the other day which is why this gallery is so fortuitous. The last thing I’ve been thinking about is camouflage but you have to figure since that movie came out there have been plenty of advances in hunting and military camouflage. Turns out I was right and it seems that some of the outfits of today easily rival that of the Predator’s chameleon like ability to blend into his surroundings.
Photographers Simon Menner decided to showcase just how good snipers’ disguises are, and his series Camouflage has the internet baffled. To the artist’s surprise, the German army was really open to collaboration. He sent a letter to the German Defense Secretary explaining his project and shortly after was contacted by high-ranking army officials to arrange everything. “I think part of the reason it was so easy was because there is a general lack of interest in society about the army,” Menner told Wired.
