Seth Meyers Points Out Donald Trump Has Been Misleading The Nation since Home Alone 2

Like I mentioned earlier today, when it comes to dissecting the White House and all of the actions of the administration I tend to go with Seth Meyers over Stephen Colbert.  Colbert is great at being silly and completely making fun of Donald Trump.  Meyers, too, is silly and makes fun of Trump, but his “Closer Look” segment is about as “real news” as any news you’ll see on television.  At this point in media, I rely way more on Seth Meyers than I would legitimate news networks.

Anyway, Meyers took to late night to talk about Trumps enormous tax cuts proposals.  He also dug in a little deeper.  In fact he went back as far as the 1990s when Trump had a bit cameo in the movie Home Alone 2.  Here are a couple of choice quotes from the segment we have below:

“The White House released a statement bragging that Trump will have signed 30 executive orders during his first 100 days, which is ridiculous,” Meyers argued. “Claiming you have been a good president just because you have signed a lot of executive orders makes no sense – but don’t just take it from me, take it from this guy…” He then cut to a series of soundbites from the 2016 election cycle where Trump characterized Obama as a president who took advantage of executive action because he wanted to “go back and play golf.” (Yes, really.)

“It is at this point like a law of physics: For every Trump action, there is an equal and opposite Trump clip,” Meyers continued. “I swear if Trump said the bathroom was down the hall and to the right, I’m sure we would find an old clip of–” The host was then interrupted mid-sentence by a scene from Home Alone 2, during which Trump directed Kevin McCallister to a bathroom “down the hall and to the left.”
