While Jimmy Fallon stole the show at SNL last night we still had a pleasant surprise when Melissa McCarthy returned as Sean Spicer. Only this time she was dressed as the Easter Bunny with a very special message from the White House. McCarthy was addressing a group of children at the White House who were involved in the annual Easter Egg hunt. But the message didn’t particularly involve Easter. Rather it involved Spicer’s erroneous comments about Adolf Hitler’s use of chemical weapons.
As you’ll recall Spicer said that Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons despite having used gas chambers as a means to take away the lives millions of people (I don’t have the actual numbers on lives taken through the gas chambers).
Referencing Spicer’s flub earlier this week, in which he claimed Adolf Hitler never used chemical weapons on his own people and later called concentration camps “Holocaust centers”, McCarthy said, “Spicey finally screwed up. You got me . . . I clearly meant to say ‘concentration clubs.’ “
“I am sensitive to the fact that they went there on trains, but at least they didn’t have to fly United,” McCarthy added, poking fun at the United Airlines debacle earlier this week in which a passenger was beaten and forcibly removed from an aircraft.
McCarthy went on to further apologize to “all the goys out there” for the timing of the incident so close to Passover, or “what I call Jewish Easter,” she added.
