Doctor is Violently Dragged off the Plane from Overbooked United flight

So I don’t normally do news stories that are truly “news” stories.  Usually I’ll make fun of something in politics or report on things that are interesting.  Rarely are they “world” events or international news type stories.   But when you see a video of a guy getting dragged off a plane like this, you kind of have to post it.  This happened over the weekend on a United flight.  Apparently the flight was overbooked and the airline resorted to literally hitting a guy so that he was virtually unconscious and then physically dragging him off the plane.

It may sound like I’m embellishing, and I wish I was.  But this is exactly what happened.   The man, who according to social media users is a doctor who was on his way home, can be seen being escorted off the plane by staff. The airline asked passengers to voluntarily leave the plane but this man refused, saying he had to get home.

One passenger tweeted: “He told the police and the United employees he had to be at the hospital in the morning to see patients.” Another passenger said after the incident: “Kids were crying and people are disturbed.”

United Airlines said in a statement: “Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was overbooked. After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate. We apologize for the overbook situation.”

No chance this statement is even nearly enough for what happened.
