Se7en is arguably the best film that David Fincher has ever created. While his portfolio of excellent films is pretty wide Se7en was probably his darkest and most chilling film of his career. I’m going to argue that’s the reason why his new show Mindhunter has been created it. Think about it. If his best work was the movie Se7en, it would make sense that he would now create a television show about an FBI agent who is investigating serial killers and rapists. This is just a theory, but I’d be willing to bet that Fincher is most proud of Se7en and that’s why he’s doing Mindhunter. Call it an extension of that film if you will.
Anyway, speaking of the movie Se7en, no matter how many years go by this film will always be a top mention when you talk about films involving serial killers and mystery. Kevin Spacey will go down as easily one of the best serial killers on film and the combo of Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt as detectives will never be duplicated on film.
As interesting as the film is as a whole, it’s equally as interesting to see what the movie’s behind the scenes were like as well. Here are 22 facts about Se7en you might not have known.
