When you’re a child playing with a yo-yo is extremely fun. Just the mere fact that a yo-yo comes back to you is awesome enough. But then you learn to master the whole “walk the dog” and “around the world” tricks and you really start to see what a yo-yo is capable of. Actually, that’s amateur hour. I had no idea that yo-yo competitions existed but I personally think that this should be a legal sport. When you see the skill involved it’ll make you question why something like Poker is even considered a sport.
This week, America’s Evan Nagao won the European Yo-Yo Championship Open Final with this routine you’re about to see below. Not only did he travel to Europe to prove that American Yo-Yo skills are second to none, but he beat those Europeans out while performing to one of the greatest Southern Rock songs ever produced.
That’s right, his entire routine was being done to none other than “Freebird” by Lynard Skynard? I mean is that awesome or what? Do I classify this article as a sports article or music article? Maybe both?
