If La La Land Were Directed by David Lynch

If La La Land Were Directed by David Lynch

While La La Land didn’t win best picture at this year’s Academy Awards,  it still cleaned up and got its fair share of accolades.  I still argue that this film was “made for the Oscars” in the sense that it glamorizes Hollywood in ways we’ve never seen.  In other words, it’s the biggest suck up to the “old Hollywood” in the history of film, therefore people ate it up.  I’m just glad it wasn’t to the point that it actually won best picture.   Moonlight put a nice stop to that.

In any event, leading up to the Oscars La La Land was the one nominee that got made fun of the most.  Whether it was a photoshopped picture or a meme, or even James Corden pretending to be Emma Stone on his Late Late Show, the parodies of this film seemed to be endless.   Now that the Oscars have concluded the hype is finally dying down.  However, we’re still getting some fun stuff that trickles in.

Speaking of which, this video just came into my inbox and I had to share it.  As you know, David Lynch is far and away one of the weirdest, most interesting directors of our time.  In fact he’s back in the game as Twin Peaks has been resurrected on Showtime.  But imagine if David Lynch took a crack at La La Land?

This moody mashup is part of CineFix’s Trailer Mix series. and it’s worth a gander.
