For literally over 30 years Alec Baldwin has been in the public eye and in a number of phases. In the 80s Baldwin was in his “hot” phase. This is when he was thin, had these sort of “bad guy” roles. Not literally a bad guy but a rebellious guy. When you see him in movies like Working Girl or She’s Having a Baby he’s portrayed as the studly mysterious guy who the ladies love. Same goes for The Hunt For Red October. As Baldwin got older he slowly shifted to being a more comedic actor (still being taking on plenty of serious parts though). It was Outside Providence that saw him as a hilarious foul mouthed father, and we got to see a whole new side to Baldwin.
He would proceed to play more comedic roles in movies like Along Came Polly and even his “serious” character in The Departed was hilarious. Also during this time Baldwin had his reign on 30 Rock in which he won multiple Emmy’s.
It now looks like Baldwin’s hit yet another popular phase in his career: it’s the Trump phase. Baldwin himself has volunteered to host the White House Correspondent’s dinner after Trump denied an appearance. Baldwin has taken the world by storm with his Donald Trump impression on Saturday Night Live and it doesn’t look like the character will go away any time soon.
In the clip below, Alec Baldwin reveals how he created his Donald Trump impersonation, the process behind learning Donald’s quirks and what happened the first time he performed it on “Saturday Night Live”.
