The second I saw this video I immediately thought of the movie Robocop. Remember the scene when Ed 209 couldn’t walk down the stairs? In today’s day and age I find it absolutely hilarious that the movie completely missed that or that they even made that Ed 209’s downfall. This is what would be considered today a billion dollar military project but the smartest robotics engineers in the entire world couldn’t get this thing to be able to walk down a flight of stairs? Awesome.
Speaking of stairs, this is a video demonstration of the Minitaur quadruped robot developed by Ghost Robotics. The 13-pound robot stands about 10 inches tall, 16 inches long and can move over difficult terrain, climb stairs, fences, open doors, and is available for purchase for $10,000.
Remember folks. This is just the beginning. Slap some skin on that thing, an exoskeleton and whip up some AI and you’re looking at a Cyborg. Seriously. People have to be overlooking the fact that we’re 100% doomed. No one realizes this yet?
