Nike’s latest short film slash commercial featuring Lebron James is a powerful one. Entitled “Equality” the 90-second spot which is tied to Black History Month features LeBron James, Serena Williams, Kevin Durant, Michael B. Jordan, Alicia Keys and other Nike athletes. According to Uproxx
The film’s message is to try and bring the openness of sport, which rewards actions over how one looks, to the rest of life by bringing what happens “between the lines” to the rest of the world (through the metaphor of painting sports lines all over). The final line of the film is “if we can be equals here, we can be equals everywhere” with the second half punctuated by James.
This is yet another company coming forward in 2017 that is bringing to attention the equality issues in the United States. Only a week ago a number of commercials aired during the Super Bowl which were attempting to unify our country and sending a message that we are all one, rather than divided by racial and color lines. Clearly Nike bringing in the star power that is has makes this message even more powerful.

And here’s a behind the scenes look at “Equality”
“We all have a purpose in life and for us to be as great as we can be as a nation and as a world, we all have to feel empowered,” said James.
