While I and I think the collective Dexter fanbase will never get over the finale of the show, Michael C. Hall has moved on from playing the serial killer and has been pretty busy ever since it ended. Hall’s been doing a ton of theater acting but until we hear that Dexter will come out of hiding, we’re going to have to get used to Michael C. Hall playing other roles. Speaking of which, The Crown has just brought on Hall to appear in season 2.
The Netflix drama is having Hall play the role of Jack Kennedy while Jodi Balfour will take on the role of Jackie Kennedy. According to THR
Season two is currently in production and will usher in the 1960s after Her Majesty’s Armed Forces fight an illegal war in Egypt. It ends with the downfall of her third Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, after a scandal.
“The idea is to do this over six decades, in six seasons presumably, and make the whole show over eight to 10 years,” Netflix chief Ted Sarandos said on a panel last November. Along with producer Sony Pictures Television, Netflix will find new actors to play the main characters at different stages of their lives. Season two is currently in production.
Amazingly this marks Hall’s first return to television since playing Dexter. It’s going to be very hard to see Hall play John F. Kennedy without thinking he’s about to stab someone and put them in cellophane wrapping.
