Tomi Lahren is one of the most controversial “reporters” on television right now. Her show “The Blaze” has gotten notoriety for Lahren’s outlandish right winged views that she expresses in a no nonsense, quick witted, fast paced manner. Conservatives love her because she’s the “face of an alt-right” millennial generation. But anyone who isn’t on the far right pretty much despises her commentary. You might remember her appearing on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah some months back. She was essentially attacked by Noah with loud applause from the liberal crowd. Lahren was quick to defend herself the day after despite numerous articles claiming Noah “schooled” her.
On a personal level I disagree with just about everything Lahren says but that she withstood the bashing on The Daily Show and then stepped up to appear on yet another liberal show “Real Time” was pretty impressive. She herself will tell you it’s to increase her brand and following but knowing you’re jumping right into the lion’s den is risky business. Lahren’s pretty stone cold when it comes to criticism.
Nevertheless she got in there, expressed her views and Bill Maher was surprisingly lenient. Rarely did anything get out of hand. There were some boos here and there and some panelists even cursed at some of her comments. But overall, it wasn’t nearly the spectacle The Daily Show was. If I’m a betting man, Maher just thought she was super attractive and didn’t want to anger her too much.
